Windows 7 raid 0 boot drive

It's either the raid card or the mobo. Just about has to be. I cant see the error code, the BSOD goes away too fast. I will try to do a BIOS update, fingers crossed but no real faith in it here Where should i start if that doesnt work? Honestly, I believe your next best step is to register for the forums either at your mobo website or the raid cards. At least spend some time there looking for similar problems. Last edited: Mar 27, First, i followed all instructions given by Rosewill to set up the RAID 0 drive, and everything worked fine.

Then, i booted to the windows install disc, and installed Windows on the raid 0 drive. To do this, i had to have a secondary hard disk drive installed into the motherboard, or else i would not be able to complete windows installation. It did work, in the end leaving me with 2 drives one logical RAID 0 Drive consisting of 2 of the seagate drives, and one Physical drive with fully functioning Windows installations on them.

The real problems start here; now when i try to remove the physical drive leaving just the RAID 0 drive, the system fails to boot and i recieve an error indicating that the drive in question the RAID drive is not bootable. This does not make sense to me, since the RAID drive works perfect when the other drive is installed, but does not work properly without.

I have tried to use AFUWin to flash to the most recent motherboard bios, but i get an error when trying to start the program "Error: Loading Driver". Any assistance is much appreciated. What would you think of cloning the original Windows 7 disk to the raid 0 drive? Are there any reasons why this wont work? Should i use Clonezilla? It's times like these that I learn how to go through an install blindfolded anyhoo Well, i gave up for now on trying to "solve" this issue.

I gave into having to accept leaving the non RAID 0 drive installed, and plugged it all up but hid it so that i dont see it in windows. Perhaps this is even better than putting the drive in if i ever want or need to boot to it, but this problem still bugs me Thanks everyone for your help. MileHighMilitia , Mar 28, Yea that's what I'm afraid of. Thanks guys. Would it be possible to do a fresh windows install on the 2 spinpoints in raid, and then copy windows over from the current gb?

Save the files to either a totally diff HD or a Portable best. Then remove that drive and install your raid. When done add the gb back into the system and transfer the files back. I have windows 7 ultimate 64bit right now. My settings and programs are installed just the way I like it, all I want to do is swap out my current gb hard drive and install 2 spinpoints in raid 0.

So ideally, I want to "copy" what I have right now onto the raid 0 once I set them up. Joined Feb 19, Messages 6, 1. Latest: FoxInFlames A moment ago. Question fan speeds too high? Latest: Paperdoc 2 minutes ago.
