It is stuck in startup repair. My husband tried to do a system restore, but it went straight back to startup repair. Please advise! This all seems so weird, but both Windows Security Essentials and Spybot have failed to find anything that could be causing it. You may have corruption with the system files that tie into the indexing system. To fix this there are two things you can try: a system file checker scan, and corruption repair on the hard drive.
After that completes, try rebuilding the index again. Even if it could repair all the corruption. If you still can't build the index move on.
